CARLISLE JAZZ CLUB
PROGRAMME
At Carlisle Rugby Union Club every Thursday, 8-30pm
Warwick Road, Carlisle.
Announcement
As most regulars will be aware our attendances have not recovered to pre-covid levels and it will come as no surprise that we can't continue and have a viable club with the numbers we are getting in at the moment. The committee have decided that to continue having weekly jazz in Carlisle the entrance fee must be increased for everyone to reflect the cost of the band. From this month members will be required to pay £7 and non-members £9 to enter. On those occasions when we book more expensive bands members will be requested to pay £9 and non-members £11.
May 5th
The Paul Palmer Quintet
This outstanding Saxophonist, who you have seen recently playing with the Esk Valley, brings his own band to the club to play his style of music. A night not to be missed.
Non-members £9
May 12th
The Tim Barty Quartet
Tim hasn't played at the club since 2019 but was booked to play when covid wiped out our programme. We are in for a treat tonight as Tim's chosen instrument is the Baritone Sax which I understand is one of the rarer of the Saxophone family and quite a challenge to play for two hours.
Non-members £9
May 19th
Steve Andrews and Friends
It's been three years since we last saw Steve at the club which is far too long. Look forward to an evening of great jazz and dry humour.
Non-members £9
May 26th
The High Society Jazz Band
A welcome return to this highly versatile band that amongst the five of them play ten different instruments and have four vocalists. Their music covers various genres of New Orleans Jazz through to the swing era. Look forward to a thoroughly entertaining evening
Non-members £9
Membership: £5 a month - entry to club £7 (£9)
Forthcoming attractions
